UV-Treat

Introduction

UV-Treat is a medical platform that specializes in selling UV lamps while also providing professional
advice and training for specialists in the field. Our goal for this project was to enhance the overall
user experience and significantly boost conversion rates. The key objectives included simplifying
the navigation system, streamlining the purchasing process, and providing users with more
comprehensive information about the products and services offered to help them make informed
decisions.

Problems

Despite attracting a substantial amount of traffic to the website through effective marketing
campaigns, UV-Treat faced low conversion rates, with many users abandoning their carts during
the checkout process. Our research revealed several core issues: users struggled to navigate the
site due to a confusing menu structure, the checkout process involved too many steps, and the
lack of detailed product information and customer reviews made it difficult for users to make
confident purchasing decisions. These factors were leading to high bounce rates and missed sales
opportunities.

Research and Analysis

To gain deeper insights, we conducted 23 in-depth interviews with users to thoroughly understand
their interactions with the platform and identify the pain points in their experience. This research
highlighted the most problematic areas in the user journey, helping us prioritize what needed to be
addressed first. Alongside this, we performed a detailed competitive analysis by reviewing key
players in the industry such as MedLight, Dermalight, and UVBioCare. This comparison allowed us
to adopt best practices from competitors while avoiding their shortcomings, giving UV-Treat a
strategic edge in usability and interface design.

Design Solutions

Our design solutions were focused on addressing the major pain points identified during our
research. First, we restructured the website’s navigation, making it more intuitive and allowing
users to find information with ease. We then reduced the number of steps in the checkout process
to make it faster and more user-friendly. To further enhance the user experience, we expanded
product descriptions, providing detailed features and benefits, and introduced user reviews to build
trust. Additionally, we ensured that the site was fully optimized for mobile devices, making it easy
to use on smartphones and tablets. Finally, we integrated a feature for online consultations,
enabling users to receive expert advice before making a purchase.

Decision

The key decisions revolved around simplifying both the structural and visual elements of the
website. We revamped the menu system to ensure users could navigate the site effortlessly,
and shortened the checkout process by reducing the number of steps and making forms more concise.
To enhance transparency and build trust, we expanded the product pages to include detailed
descriptions, specifications, and user reviews. We also prioritized mobile optimization, ensuring a
seamless user experience across all devices. The introduction of online consultations added an
extra layer of support for users, allowing them to make well-informed choices with confidence.

Results

The changes were implemented over a three-month period using Agile methodology, allowing for
iterative improvements based on user feedback. As a result of these enhancements, UV-Treat
experienced a 25% increase in conversion rates within the first three months of the new design
going live. The streamlined checkout process also led to a 40% reduction in bounce rates at the
payment stage. Additionally, customer satisfaction saw a marked improvement, with more repeat
purchases and greater loyalty to the brand, demonstrating the success of the project.

Conclusion

The UV-Treat project highlighted the importance of conducting thorough user research and making
data-driven decisions when it comes to website optimization. By addressing the identified issues with
usability and navigation, we were able to improve the platform’s overall performance, resulting in higher
conversion rates and improved customer retention. The successful implementation of these changes not
only enhanced the user experience but also had a direct and positive impact on UV-Treat’s business
outcomes, solidifying the brand’s position in the market.
